NOV 5, 2013: Crawford, Murphy & Tilly’s (CMT) Matt Zick, PE was recently named to the InterBusiness Issues’ list of 40 Leaders Under Forty. The Peoria-based publication annually recognizes young professionals in Central Illinois based on their leadership and accomplishments, both in their chosen fields, and in their communities. “Matt has distinguished himself as a leader within the company and in the community. I have worked alongside him for 12 years and can attest to the importance that he places on serving others, both inside and outside of the office,” said Eric Hansen, manager of CMT’s Peoria office.
A certified LEED professional, Zick was also in the inaugural class of ISI Envision sustainability professionals and has since earned certification as a verifier. Zick has also played a leadership role in CMT’s continuous improvement initiative and its young professionals planning group.
In promotion of his industry and in service to the less fortunate, Zick founded and served as president the Heart of Illinois chapter of Engineers Without Borders, a humanitarian organization that promotes development programs throughout the world. In this role he worked with a group of students from Bradley University to develop permanent and safe water resources for a village in Guatemala.
