In keeping with this mission, CMT is pleased to announce the hiring of Leonardo Marcatelli, PE, SE, SECB, LEED AP, as a licensed Structural Engineer in the Peoria, IL office. Mr. Marcatelli brings 17 years of structural engineering experience to CMT.
Mr. Marcatelli’s expertise lies in timely and cost-effective solutions for new and existing structures in the transportation, building, power and environmental markets. He has proficiency performing and managing structural analysis, inspection, design and construction document preparation and assisting contractors and owners.
After receiving a civil engineering degree in Italy at the University of Bologna, Mr. Marcatelli came to the US to study structural engineering at the University of Illinois from where he received a Master of Science in Structural Engineering in 2001. Since then, Mr. Marcatelli has worked as a consulting engineer with various departments of transportation (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Texas) as well as the Illinois Tollway, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency Program (CREATE).
Mr. Marcatelli has extensive experience working with railroads including Union Pacific Railroad, Norfolk Southern Railway Corporation, Canadian National Railroad and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. His experience also includes the new Doha International Airport in Qatar, the Dubai Mall in Dubai, UAE as well as the John G. Shedd Aquarium and the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
