AUG 21, 2013: Cassie Reiter, PE, ENV SP, recently completed training to become an Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) verifier. Reiter, a project manager based in CMT’s Indianapolis office, is now qualified to provide independent verification that projects seeking credits through Envision (ENV) – ISI’s sustainable rating system for infrastructure projects – are meeting the required levels of achievement.
“Our clients are increasingly embracing sustainability on their projects, as is the industry in general. By becoming a verifier, I hope to assist in advancing a trend that is critically important to the environment,” Reiter said.
ISI represents a collaboration between the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and the American Public Works Association, and is dedicated to promoting sustainability on all types and sizes of civil infrastructure projects. As a charter member of the ISI, CMT was an early proponent of the development of Envision.
In 2012, Reiter was among the first in the nation to receive the ENV Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) certification. As a credentialed professional, she is qualified to lead projects seeking high levels of sustainability by using the Envision system. She was recently selected by the City of Muncie, Indiana to provide these services for the Muncie Sanitary District CSO program.
Reiter is one of three CMT professionals to receive Envision certification, along with Matt Zick, PE, ENV SP and Steve Schroll, PE, ENV SP. Zick is also an ISI verifier.
